The intricate urban layout of La Guaira, conditioned by Osorio creek, which runs north-south and divides it, together with its sloped topography with views to the sea and its fan shape, give rise to beautiful spaces like El Guamacho plaza. The narrow plaza, shaped like a long blade, which hides the direct perspective to El Carmen Chapel, lets the bell tower be seen, standing out from the urban profile, which has great choral value, with the houses’ colored façades. It displays the same rhythm in windows and doorways that open onto the plaza and pedestrians passing. Further toward the coast and on the same side of the river, San Pedro Apóstol church dialogues with the equally protruding façade of the chapel, also in colonial style.
