Calle Real of Sabana Grande, historically the main street of the city, became a shopping and social pedestrian place, two kilometers long, full of restaurants, shops and outdoor cafes, between Avenida Las Acacias (connecting La Florida and Avenida Libertador with Bello Monte from north to south) and Chacaíto Shopping Center. At the beginning of the boulevard, Salazar Domínguez designed a multifamily building with 9 standard levels, ground floor and basement, whose main virtue is its urban contribution by building a continuous façade volume at the west edge of the block. The curved corner balconies, reinforced by a vertical frame higher than the rest of the building, display an emphasis on ornamentation, in addition to the formal richness of its finishes, used to accen-tuate different planes on the façade. The building is arranged in vertical bodies dividing its mass, to give it varie-ty and break the façades plane. The commercial ground floor, with a marquee for advertising, is organized inside by five courtyards that are useful for ventilating the building inside, according to health standards. Next to Radio City Cinema, the building set a new urban scale in the sector, being a reference at the beginning of the Gran Aven-ida. For decades, the building suffered the ravages of neglect and home invasions. In 2012 it was converted into a student residence by the Mayor of Libertador, altering its interior.
