GCM
The square is designed with a neoclassical arrangement, with the sculpture in the center, between two arms with pergo-las on columns, planted with bougainvilleas and embracing the public space. It is on a plane just a few steps above the street level, giving it the presence to mark the end of Avenida San Martín and the beginning of other western Caracas neighborhoods, like Bella Vista. It exhibits a bronze sculpture of Uruguayan hero José Gervasio Artigas (by José Luis Blanes, with a Costa workshop inscription, Florence, Italy).
