Convivencia Park is a result of the drive to create and conquer new public spaces and urban facilities by the Mayor of Chacao. The mixture of uses designed to serve the community, together with careful handling of shapes, proportions and details, make this park an exemplary urban space. The small 945 m2 urban park, next to Pajaritos barrio, has an access square on the south, partially covered by a pergola. Its main program has three areas: one for a multipurpose sports court, occupying the center of the lot; the second a small two-level building for support and services; and the third, free areas and green spaces for recreation. The shape of the two-level service building is developed from a covered gallery overlooking the court and extending into a courtyard with a garden, and a second level where a multi-purpose room is located. This volume has a blind screen extending over the court, conceived as a unique surface for projecting images or temporary interventions. At the same time, the screen is a surface where natural light is reflected indirectly into the interior space. At the entrance of the barrio, facing the park is the mural Pajaritos, by artist Patricia van Dalen.
