The pressures of informal trade stationed for years in front of the formal shops of Avenida Principal of El Ce-menterio were ended with the construction of the boulevard in honor of Caracas painter and dramaturge César Rengifo, which restricted vehicle access had promoted the relocation of street sellers under the roofs of the old manufacturing factories. Commercial vitality was organized and domesticated with the construction of what is popularly known as Boulevard El Cementerio (former Calle Real of El Cementerio), one of the new public spaces of Libertador municipality, improving the environmental quality of the area. About one kilometer long and twelve meters wide, occupying 11 blocks and 2500 m2, it is the city’s second largest boulevard; a meeting place for locals and visitors that, with the 3600 plants and urban furniture, has transformed the area’s urban life.
