The square dates back to 1935, when the urban development was built. Rectangular in shape, it functions as a transition area between the neighborhood and the Tres Gracias access to the Ciudad Universitaria of Caracas, coinciding with Paseo Los Ilustres as its north edge. The sculpture was placed in 1957 under the presidency of General Marcos Pérez Jiménez. The square has a reflecting pool with sinuous edges, over which the sculpture of the three muses, Three Graces, by Italian sculptor Pietro Ceccarelli (1888-1942) is placed, who exemplarily copied the neoclassic work (1799) by Antonio Canova (1757-1822) with three intertwined female figures. The planted area has weeping willows that, together with the wooden pergola at the south end, create a romantic landscaping atmosphere, of Italian renaissance influences in its spatial composition and scenic relationship with its surroundings.
