Historically, Macuto was an elegant watering place where Presidents and Caraqueños took refugge wanting to temper and go to sea bathing. In the twenties in the popular baths for men and women swimmers were separated. In the sixties, a new moment of splendor the sea baths occurs when an equipment policy of the beaches was promoted and the archi-tect Tomás Sanabria handles the task, who in turn was delegated to the office of Galia-Alcock, projects of different structures of the central coast. Alcock, equips Macuto’s coast with built bungalows, a walkway closed to automobile traffic, and a promenade, which encouraged the rise of restaurants and services, along with a native landscape brought a spirit of modernity to the watering place. Today, deserves to be returned to its original image, including the iconic Plaza de las Palomas.
