A triangular lot (9,977 m2) was converted into a cultural center for young people by recycling metal containers as architecture, by composing the scenario of an urban park, with a creative image that invites the development of talents linked to the media. From the organization of 15 containers towards the edges of the land, superimposed in different directions, interconnected with stairs, an activity center was set up that gathered information centers, audio-forums with capacity for 250 people, projection rooms, multipurpose rooms, community radios, record factories, contemporary and plastic dance workshops, video library and sports courts. Some new activities like a “rap and hip hop center”, as well as manifestations of “grafitti” artists take place inside the facility. The original proposal has been modified over time thanks to the mobility of containers incorporating new activities for diverse ages of the people’s community, such as food markets and music lessons for children of the Sistema Nacional Juvenil de Orquestas. An atmosphere of an unfinished space, invaded and conquered for youth is its greatest attraction. MIP
